Dropbox on a basic level is a FREE online service that allows you to sync files across computers and mobile devices.
Supported in Windows, Mac and Linux along with iPhone, iPad, Android and Blackberry phones, it is hard to find a place where Dropbox doesn’t work. Even if you’re at a computer where Dropbox isn’t installed you can login to their website and access your files.
Here’s a quick summary of how it works: First Dropbox installs a small program on your computer. During the installation process a folder known as your “Dropbox Folder” is created. All of the files saved inside your Dropbox folder will be saved online.
The next computer you install Dropbox on will have the files already stored online downloaded and saved to your new installation. The files between the two computers (and the Dropbox server) will continually sync with each other to insure you have the most up to date version.
